Founded in 1989 by Gerhard Zinserling. The firm has been involved in a variety of building types. Adaptive re-use of urban manufacturing structures, new construction for commercial and residential uses, and renovation of existing buildings. The projects have ranged from, indoor sports facilities, dance clubs, medical offices, restaurants to multi-unit residential, artist live work space's and single family residences, ranging in size and budget.

The main focus of the firm is to explore creative solutions to urban conditions. To experiment with texture, shape, volume and scale, to search out a building's soul. To move people through the architecture in a physical manner as well as on a subconscious, spiritual level, all the while humanizing the built form by respecting the materials used in the construction.

With the creative and intelligent use of common construction materials, the use of day-lighting and natural ventilation, use of energy efficient products, and green technology, the firm explores the edges of architecture and, through the years, has produced over 200 successful projects. Structures, which recognize and interact with their surrounding environments, develop harmonious working and living conditions, as well as satisfying the client's program and budget needs.
